After a week straight of trying to teach our kids to recognize and count change to no prevail, my wife decided to make up a little game that would be fun, easy, and educational at the same time. Even the promise of them “KEEPING” the money that came from Dad’s change bucket didn’t help them out. My wife sat down with some paper, crayons, and a ruler and drew a game board. Then, to make it more fun for the kids, she made some squares that they could buy candy from. What kid doesn’t like to buy candy. Let alone, what kid doesn’t like to take money from their brothers or sisters, or even their parents for that matter. So to stay competitive, she put in those squares. Does it sound fun yet? Well, it gets a little better. We were on a trip last year, and at the motel they had a claw machine. After winning a stuffed animal for his sisters and three nieces, our son noticed a stuffed animal that was close to the edge of the drop bucket. He decided to stick his arm through the hopper hole and try to grab it getting his arm stuck in the process. Luckily, after a little wiggling he was able to get his arm free.... And he didn’t get the animal. So, that is why the “arm in the vending machine” thing is on there. Oh and they like to shake vending machines in order for the loose stuff to fall out. The kids have always dumped out the money from their piggy banks. I don’t know why before the game came about, because they couldn’t count their money. Now, they can count money and even make change. They were being taught while having fun. A lot of trial and error has made BankOla what it is today. We hope you have as much fun playing Thank you, |
